Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs):

By the end of this masterclass, participants will be able to:

Dr. Mourad Wahba, MBChB, MRCPsych

Consultant Psychiatrist and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Newcastle University

Dr. Mourad Wahba (MBChB, MRCPsych) is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Newcastle University specialising in mood disorders and clinical research delivery. With extensive clinical and research experience, Dr. Wahba co-leads the Care Pathway Enhancement Clinic, a specialist mood disorder research clinic which supports patients with complex mood disorders in the community and facilitates delivery of novel and innovative treatment approaches through research involvement.

With a keen interest in psychedelic therapy, Dr. Wahba is Principal Investigator for several Phase 3 clinical trials utilising psychedelics for psychiatric disorders including Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety, and Treatment Resistant Depression, positioning him at the forefront of psychiatric research and psychedelic-assisted therapy. He has also contributed as a sub-investigator in several clinical trials published in leading journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine and the British Journal of Psychiatry.

Otherwise, Dr. Wahba holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Research Delivery (Distinction) and is an Approved Clinician in the UK, reflecting his commitment to evidence-based practice and clinical excellence. An experienced educator, he actively teaches medical students, psychiatry trainees, and healthcare professionals, while also engaging in public education and mental health advocacy.
