Tics in Children & Adolescents: Session 1: Assessment & Diagnosis

This live, case-based session focuses on the practical assessment and diagnosis of tic disorders in children and adolescents.

We will work through real clinical presentations to clarify:

• What counts as a tic (and what does not)

• How to differentiate tics from stereotypies, compulsions, functional movements, and seizures

• Key history questions that actually change management

• Applying diagnostic criteria without over-pathologising

The session is interactive throughout, using guided case discussion and clinical reasoning rather than long lectures.
